Padma Lakshmi Bio

Padma Parvati Lakshmi is a Indian from Chennai who was born on September 1, 1970. Lakshmi lost her parents at the age of 2 years old. Her mother left India to escape the stigma of divorce in India and emigrated to the United States. Lakshmi spent two years living with her grandparents from Chennai before moving to the United States. Both of her parents divorced after that, and she now has a younger half brother and a half-sister from her father. Lakshmi is a name shared by the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity. She was born in New York, then moved to Los Angeles with her stepfather and mother. She would return to India for a short period of time each year to visit her relatives. Padma Lakshmi became interested in acting in 1999. Her first film part was in Figlio di Sandokan (an Italian pirate film). Next, she did a role in  the film 'Caraibi' (Pirates: Blood Brothers) which is a period drama about pirates of the 17th century. In Italy the show was the top-rated, and she hosted 'Domenica In'. In 2001, her role as an actress as a disco singer in  the film 'Glitter. 'Glitter is an American film. Padma has a daughter, Krishna Thea Lakshmi-Dell with Adam Dell, a venture capitalist. Krishna was born on the 20th of February the 20th of February, 2010. She has also been involved with Teddy Forstmann, the ex-chairman and CEO of IMG. Lakshmi has a child with American venture capitalist Adam Dell. Although she initially did not reveal the identity of the child's father from the public, Lakshmi later revealed him to be Dell.
