Summer Bishil Bio

 Summer Bishil was raised in Pasadena (California). Her family went to Europe when she was only three years old. Summer was a student at American as well as British schools, while her family was living abroad. They returned home to Pasadena California, just before her 14th birthday. Summer was just five years old when she discovered her passion for acting. She enrolled in her first acting class. Nine months later, she made an agreement with an agent and a manager , and started to follow her dreams full-time. When she isn't working, she is enrolled in college and working towards completing her degree. She was among the young stars that were featured in Vanity Fair's cover article, "Hollywood's New Wave: The Hottest Kids in Hollywood" in August 2008.Was named one of "Ten Actors to Watch" by Variety (2007).Nominee for Best Actress - Spirit Award. At the age of 14, Bishil began acting lessons. In just one year, she was signed to a contract with an agency and a manager. Bishil began her career on the Nickelodeon TV show Just for Kicks. After that she was offered an agreement with a manager and agency. Her breakout role came in Alan Ball's 2007 film Towelhead. It's an adaptation of the book of the same title. Dana Stevens, a Slate critic, claimed that "Her performance in a movie that , despite its best intentions, is completely fake as well as embarrassing and like an extended PSA regarding inappropriate touching, is the most honest thing." Bob Strauss writes for many Los Angeles newspapers and states that Bishil "...is one of the most natural actresses in film ever. Gary Goldstein, in a September 12, Los Angeles Times, review of Towelhead stated that Summer Bishil ("...newcomer) provides a compelling and impressive performance as Jasira. In 2009, she filmed Wayne Kramer's Crossing Over movie starring Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta, and Ashley Judd. Jay Reiner, Associated Press, appreciated her portrayal. She was selected to play Azula in M. Night Shyamalan's film The Last Airbender (2010). The sequel was never released.
