Mary-Louise Parker

Mary-Louise Parker (born August 2, 1964) is an American actress. After making her Broadway debut in Craig Lucas's Prelude to a Kiss, in 1990, Parker was nominated for a Tony Award for the role of Rita. She won both an Golden Globe and a Primetime Emmy Award for her performance of Harper Pitt in the acclaimed HBO mini-series on television Angels in America in 2003.Parker went on to enjoy large successes in her role as Nancy Botwin, the lead character in the popular television show Weeds that ran from 2005 until 2012. She received three nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series between 2007 and 2009, and also received the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress - Television Series Musical or Comedy in 2006.Her other film roles include her roles in The Spiderwick Chronicles (2008), Red (2010), R.I.P.D. (2013) and Red 2 (2013). Parker returned to Broadway to star in The Sound Inside in 2019, for which she won her second Tony Award as Best Actress in a Play. Parker has been writing articles for Esquire magazine since 2007. She also wrote Dear Mr. You in 2015. She was the main character of Roma Guy in the ABC TV miniseries "When We Rise" in 2017. She worked as a political advisor on the Showtime show Billions in the year 2018.
