Rosamund Pike

Born in London, England in 1979, Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the only child of Caroline (Friend), a classical violinist mom, and Julian Pike, an opera singer father. She spent her early years traveling across Europe due to her parents' work. Pike was born in Bristol and went to Badminton School. She then started acting at National Youth Theatre. Pike first appeared in a National Youth Theatre production "Romeo and Juliet". She was signed by an agent after she was noticed. Pike also began acting at the National Youth Theatre. Though her debut was a big-budget action film however, the follow-up was mainly in smaller, independent films like Promised Land (2004), The Libertine (2004), (for which she received the Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent Film Awards), and Pride & Prejudice (2005) in the role of one of the Bennet daughters. A brief excursion into Hollywood film followed with the action flick, Doom (2005) as well as the thriller Fracture (2007) however, she returned to her smaller-scale films with her outstanding performances in three films: An Education (2009) and Made in Dagenham (2010) and the lead role alongside Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010).As she continued her acting career in England, Pike appeared in the spy spoof, Johnny English Reborn (2011) as well as portrayed the role as "Andromeda" in the epic sci-fi thriller Wrath of the Titans (2012). Pike made a return to action movies as the main actress, playing Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
