Rose McGowan

"Rose" McGowan (born September 5, 1973) is an American actress and
activist. McGowan's debut in film was the comedic Encino Man (1992), however,
she received more attention for her performance in The Doom Generation (1995)
in which she was awarded an Independent Spirit Award nomination as Best Debut
Performance. McGowan first appeared in the horror film Scream in the year 1996.
Then, she appeared as the headliner of Jawbreaker (1999), Devil in the Flesh
(1998), and Going All the Way (1997). In the decade 2000, McGowan became known
to television audiences for her role in the role of Paige Matthews in The WB
supernatural drama series Charmed (2001-2006). She was then cast in Robert
Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) for
which she was nominated for both the Saturn Award for Best Actress as well as
the Scream Award for Best Scream Queen. McGowan was in the action thriller
series Chosen (2014) and released her debut album, Planet 9, in 2018. It was
followed by a revamp in 2020. McGowan was recognized by Time as the Silence
Breakers, the magazine’s Person of Year in 2017. She spoke out about harassment
and sexual assault and specifically the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases.
McGowan has published an autobiography, Brave, and starred in the documentary
series Citizen Rose, which consists of four parts. Citizen Rose, both in 2018.
